Dr Andreas Schwolen-Backes joined the management team at PLATH GmbH & Co. KG in February 2022. Alongside Nico Scharfe (CEO), he is responsible for solution design, innovation and technical business development in his role as CEO/CTO.
As a growing technology company, PLATH has set itself the goal of anchoring the strategic focus on “solutions” within the management team. In doing so, PLATH aims to strengthen and further expand the role of the Systems & Integration business division as the central point of contact for integrated systems for data-driven early crisis prevention.
Dr Andreas Schwolen-Backes has been with the company since 2005, became a member of the management board in 2013 and has been Managing Director since 2018, initially of the Radio Reconnaissance Software division and, since 2021, of the PLATH Systems & Integration division. He has excellent technical expertise and knows the solutions and products of the PLATH Group and its partners, as well as their applications, in detail. With his experience, he has a keen eye for PLATH’s strengths and areas for development and will continue to consistently expand the “Solutions” division in the future, including through studies. Dr Andreas Schwolen-Backes is already familiar with many of our customers’ use cases from his many years of service in the German Armed Forces.
